About Me
Stephen Scharbrough, Creator
Coming from a musical upbringing, surrounded by a love of the arts, and growing up with a rich history in the family textile business, I wanted to continue the legacy of finding beauty and meaning in the world around me. I always had a strong sense of family interaction around these elements so the obvious next step was to create with those intentions in mind. Whether it’s the family dinner table or a place to gather around and have meetings and conversations, it’s important to have a foundation of beauty and joy.
Kind Words
“I’ve had Stephen work on several projects both personally and for my design business! He is responsive, creative and up for a challenge. He has created some amazing pieces that were both unique and functional and always delivers in a timely fashion! My clients have been impressed by how closely he replicates the vision for the project! Everything from vanities, live edge bar tops and rustic and modern design elements. I would highly recommend his business!”

“Stephen is an exceptionally skilled artist, and rustic, one-of-a kind furniture is his medium. As we re-decorated our dream home in Cincinnati, we relied on the skill and vision of an old friend in Stephen, who created two awe inspiring masterpieces, that he personally delivered to our home. We held a few consultations with widely regarded furniture makers in town, but we really fell in love with Stephen’s work through The Iron/Slab. His creations exceeded our greatest expectations, and they’ve become the staple of our living spaces. We will certainly commission additional pieces as our home evolves! Keep up the fantastic work!”

“I loved the huge walnut tree in our front yard. When we realized it was dying, I knew I wanted to make it a part of our home forever. I reached out to Stephen at theIRON/slab about using the wood to create a custom fireplace mantle for our living room. Stephen connected with me with someone who could mill and dry the material, then he worked his magic on it. It’s now a beautiful addition to our living room that will live on with the home and probably even longer than we will.”
